Abstract

Nowadays, one of the important problems is the heavy metal contamination. In order to determine those contaminations with classical methods which have distinction tables consisting down and upper limits have been used.  While evaluating the results by these tables close or distant results have been considered as same importance. Thus, each quality parameter has been rank as four class of this table. In this study, control of heavy metal contamination of Çavuşçu Lake was evaluated for quality of water by classical methods as well as fuzzy logic evaluation method. During study, water samples were collected from five stations every month and the data was found as (minimum, maximum, average, respectively); Al (0-0-0 μg/l), Cu (72-340-182 μg/l), Zn (88-199-135.9 μg/l), Fe (58-286-152.9 μg/l),   Cd (0-0-0 μg/l ), Co (0-80-22.27 μg/l), Cr (10-30-20.27 μg/l), Pb (0-23-6 μg/l), Mn (0-1411-421.36 μg/l) and Ni (0-252- 3 μg/l).

In conclusion, depending on the water contamination instructions Çavuşcu Lake was evaluated first class for Al, Cd, Fe, Pb, Zn; second class for Cr, Co, Cu and Mn and fourth class for Ni. According to the fuzzy logic calculation, homogenization was obtained at Çavuşçu Lake and it can be understand from  annual quality index obtained from this study 84% second class and 16% first class.
