Evaluation of Vocational Students’ Opinions Towards Environmental Issues

Abstract

Human beings, especially beginning with the Industrial Revolution, have created pressures on the nature and this pressure has significantly reached a global level leading to serious environmental issues. More specifically, these increases in recent years have become one of the most important problems for individuals and societies. Therefore, a priority should be given to the evaluation of the people’s level of awareness and knowledge about environmental issues in order to ensure the continuity of sustainable development of nature and natural resources. The purpose of this study is to assess the opinions of Ortaca Vocational School students of Mugla Sitki Kocman University towards environmental issues through a questionnaire method. Within this purpose, the participants’ perspectives will be determined about environmental issues of Ortaca and Turkey and some suggestions will be given in order to increase their level of environmental awareness.
