Abstract

Studies aren't enough about waste water treatment sludge drying that makes the use of solar energy. Municipal wastewater treatment plant sludge volume reduction and stabilization of additional environmental point of view in order to take advantage of solar drying systems as well as energy saving solution to many problems is also provided. Use of these systems with a high sun areas, especially the implementation of the system maintains slow levels of investment cost payback period. In this study, the District of Mersin-Tarsus, wastewater treatment plant sludge, making use of solar energy for drying is carried out more quickly and economically. In this way, Tarsus Municipality was established within the Directorate of Parks and Gardens, and the maximum energy from the sun that can move according to the direction the pilot scale and Drying Plant Solar Tracking System was established. In addition, sludge drying system is hard to make a comparison of the yields established in Drying Systems. The specific volume of Drying Plant and spread into the mud treatment, the most efficient energy production from direct sunlight at any time of the day to ensure the efficiency of Solar Tracking System from July to August (summer) and December-January (Winter) was investigated in two different periods. According to the findings of the July-August period, the maximum ambient temperature of drying at 75 °C to 56 °C while the December-January period, approximately. During the summer; treatment sludge, dried in the solar energy value of the solid content of 20%, on the 10th day 91,38 % and 13th day, has been reached as high as 99,17%. During the winter of mud solids content from 19,60% to 88,67% level needed 30 days to reach the value has been determined.
