Noise measurement of road surface by the dynamic CPX method

Abstract


The road traffic is a dominant source of the noise in the environment. Most of the European citizens living in the big agglomerations suffer from road noise. The negative influence of the noise on the human health is described by many authors. The aim of our pre-screening is to compare anoisiness of the different experimental road surfaces using measurement by the CPX method (according draftISO/CD 11819-2).The measured data from road/tyre interaction are presented as the equivalent level of acoustic pressure (LAeq) (using filter A).

The post processed results of our experimental data shows the average value of equivalent sound pressure levels at the reference speed of 50 km/h and a reference temperature of the road surface and air for the individual sections as follows: SMA 11S LAeq = 92.8 dB (section 1), ACO 11S dB LAeq = 89.8 (section 2), ARCT 2010 LAeq = 89.4 dB (section 3), and ARCT 2012 LAeq = 86.3 dB (section 4).Our research follows Directive 2002/49/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council relating to the assessment of environmental noise in – situ and final results will be used for start-up of the general noise-mapping project in Czech Republic.
