Investigating the Relationship between Hard work and Psychological Well-being (Case Study: Azad University students, Tehran Medical Branch)

Abstract


This study aimed to determine the relationship between hard work and psychological well-being of the students majoring in nursing, midwifery, genetics, biology, laboratory science of Azad University, Tehran Medical Branch in 2013-2014. 250 students were randomly selected through applying multistage sampling method. The current study is kind of correlation study. In this study, the two measuring instruments including Kobasa hard work questionnaire (2002) and Ryff psychological questionnaire (2003) were used. To analyze the data, descriptive statistics (frequency, percentage and mean) and inferential statistics (regression analysis) were used. The results showed that there was a negative and significant correlation between the students’ hard work and psychological well-being (p<0.05), but the relationship between the commitment to hard work, and students’ psychological well-being is positive.
