The Role of Social Capital in Increasing the Productivity of the Employees of Central Alborz Coal Company
Abstract
This paper is an attempt to investigate the role of social capital in increasing the productivity of the employees of central Alborz Coal Company. The present study is an applied research from the goal point of view and also a survey descriptive one from the methodology point of view. Data collection was conducted in the field and library by reviewing the documents and administering a questionnaire which included 18 multiple-choice questions. The validity of the questionnaire and its reliability were confirmed by the research supervisor and the application of internal consistency (Cronbach Alpha) with the coefficient of 0.87, respectively. The statistical population included the whole 180 employees of the central coal company among whom 117 were selected as the statistical sample. The size of the statistical sample was chosen randomly through Kerjecy Morgan table. While indices of frequency, frequency percentage and central orientation (Mean) were used in order to investigate the data in the descriptive statistical section, t-test was used in the inferential statistical one in order to determine the kind of correlation and its degree. The findings revealed that social capital (including structural aspect, social aspect, and communicative aspect) play an important role in increasing the productivity of the employees of central Alborz Coal Company. At the end, the related suggestions are provided.
