Abstract

Currently the studies concerning the algae are done generally morphologically. However, in this case study, we have done the DNA isolation of the sample algae obtained from the Acıgöl Lake, which is an inner water source, by using the molecular techniques in addition to its morphological characteristics. By using specific primers for green algae, 18s rRNA regions were amplified using PCR and data obtained was evaluated MEGA 5.1 Bootstrap Test of Phylogeny (neigboorjoining) in order to identify the species phylogeneticly. According to the sequence analysis, sample of the green algae posses 98% similarity with Ulva compressa isol (HM584738.1). The determination of the Ulva compressa isol (HM584738.1), which is generally present in the seas, for the first time in the Acıgöl Lake, an inner water source, is of great significance for the algae flora and the algologists in our country.
