Abstract

Abstract

There was a big energy requirement after the Industrial Revolution. Because of the meeting of the this demand from fossil fuel plants, global warming resulting from increased greenhouse gas emissions have disrupted the ecological balance of the planet. This requirement was met from fossil fuel based energy production plants. Greenhouse gases caused by the burning of fossil fuels, global warming has created. Disrupt the ecological balance of the planet is global warming. However, it is a fact the usage of alternative and renewable sources are getting more important. In addition to this, solar systems is creating an alternative method of energy production which is clean and environmental friendly.

The sun as a source of renewable energy, applications to meet energy needs is increasing with each passing day. Solar energy systems have some disadvantages according to fossil fuel based energy production systems. The energy output per unit area is the most important one for among these disadvantages. Especially the roof-top solar energy systems are gaining importance in the area needs. One of other disadvantages of solar energy applications is high cost of the unit. However the unit cost was reduced to the same level fossil fuel sources power plants through R & D support in the last 10 years. Nevertheless solar power systems are disadvantaged against fossil fuel plants because of the low yield per area remain. Photovoltaic panels can produce energy with the sunrays. Photovoltaic systems need to work direct sunray that's way they should be located on the suitable place and angle. Even if it is suitable the selected location, angle of incidence of sunlight varies during the day and in different seasons. So, photovoltaic system which is fixed can’t receive the most efficient sunray from the Sun every time. Therefore, solar panels are fixed in position at which to work efficiency.

Tracking solar systems are orientate panels to best angle to receive the most efficient sunray. Thereby with panels which can receive the most efficient sunray every moment and more energy can be produced. With the aid of tracking systems which can sustain more energy, the disadvantage of per unit area is prevented. That’s why, the disadvantages of per unit area regarding efficiency problems can be solved with the usage of tracking panels. But as these tracking systems have more components it is more expensive compared to the stable photovoltaic systems. However tracking systems produce much more energy and sustains a cost effective solution. Through this study our goal is to make suggestion about the feasibility of photovoltaic to tracking structures.
