Heavy metals removal by combining the magnetic properties of iron oxide with adsorption properties of Double Scalled carbon nanotubes
Abstract
The presence of heavy metals in water and wastewater has been of great public concern and it is one of the most frequent contaminants at hazardous-waste sites.
Recently, metal oxides. have started gaining interest for removing undesirable heavy metal ions from industrial and processing effluent water, nanocomposite of high porosity, high surface are used in industry for purification and environmental remediation
The aim of our study is the development of a nanocomposite which contains properties of iron oxides and high adsorption capacity of double scalled carbon nanotubes Composites of DWCNT/nano-iron oxide were prepared under optimized conditions. The optimum sorption parameters were determined in a batch system.
