Sediment Estimation of Rivers without Statistical Data by Using Hydrological Erosion Ranking Method( Case study : Yalgouz aghaj dam)

Abstract


The main part of sedimentation obtained from erosion of river's bed, in advance sediments on dams reservoir and causes many of problems in their operation and maintenance. on estimation of sediment load of rivers without statistical data, information of nearest Hydrometers Station is used and with application of  empirical relations, it's sediment is calculated. Regarding the complexity of hydrological phenomena, conclusions obtained from theoretical estimations and observed values, generally have considerable difference in comparison with each other. In this research Yalgouz Aghaj and Daryan rivers as a case study variants, are considered and sediment load of these rivers using Method of hydrological erosion ranking (this method uses all parameters of sediment) is calculated and is comprised with empirical values. Conclusions obtained from application of this method shows high degree of regression (90 %).
